The Assam Tribune EduFair was held in the month of May 2009 at three locations namely Guwahati, Shillong & Dibrugarh. The fair saw the participation of more than 100 institutes from across India and abroad, offering courses ranging from the conventional ones like engineering, medical, management to the allied ones like aviation, fashion & jewelry designing etc which provided a multitude of career options for the students to choose from.
The fair was a grand success not only in terms of number of institutes taking part but also in terms of the exceptional response from the student community and guardians alike. The fair in Guwahati itself witnessed a footfall of nearly 15,000 from across the entire region in two days which is by far the largest for any fair held here. In all the entire event attracted a footfall of more than 26,000 making it the biggest career fair of the region. The success of the fair can be attributed to the unprecedented publicity that was undertaken as well as to the timing of the event.
Such an event was held for the first time in Dibrugarh and was welcomed by both students and parents which can be seen from the encouraging response there as well.
